Activities and prices

AIBR promotes a network for anthropology research and dissemination in Spain, Portugal and the Americas. Its activities include organising congresses and offering its members benefits for their academic, research and professional development.

AIBR may change the benefits associated with fees, memberships and services, as well as their prices, in accordance with current legislation. Prices are expressed in euros and include any applicable taxes. Users must check the current price before confirming each order.

Purchase and payment process

Users will place their orders by following the instructions on the website and during the payment process. Before completing the order, they may review and validate their selection to correct errors. Payment will be made using the methods indicated during the purchase process, which may include credit or debit cards.

Once the order has been received and payment confirmed, AIBR will send an acknowledgement to the email address provided, normally within a maximum of 24 hours. The message will include a summary of the essential features of the purchase and contact details. Users must check it and report any errors or omissions as soon as possible.

By submitting the order, users accept these terms and enter into the purchase contract. AIBR may reject or cancel a card payment if there are reasonable grounds to suspect that the purchaser is not the cardholder or the corresponding authorisation has not been demonstrated.

Guarantees, cancellations and refunds

AIBR undertakes to provide the benefits associated with the fees, memberships and services purchased. If an issue attributable to AIBR prevents it from providing what was contracted, the complaint will be addressed and, where appropriate, the amounts paid will be refunded.

Users may request a refund within fourteen calendar days of purchase, provided that they have not started using the benefits or services, without prejudice to the non-waivable rights recognised by consumer legislation. The request must identify the order and explain the reason. For Congress registration enquiries, write to info.congreso@aibr.org; for membership enquiries, write to socios@aibr.org.

Invoicing and security

AIBR will provide the corresponding invoice, available in the user’s account or through the channel indicated during purchase. In the event of a security incident or reasonable doubt about ownership of a payment method, AIBR may request the additional information strictly necessary to verify the transaction, in compliance with data protection legislation and without requesting full card details by email.

For purchases involving personal data, AIBR will apply its Legal notice and privacy policy.

Website availability

AIBR makes reasonable efforts to keep the website available but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or continuity of service. This limitation does not affect the rights granted to consumers by law.

Applicable law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to any applicable mandatory consumer protection rules. Disputes will be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction under current legislation, including those of the consumer’s place of residence where required by law.

If you have a problem with a purchase, you can write to info.congreso@aibr.org to try to resolve it.
