This policy describes the use of cookies and local storage mechanisms on the website of the 13th AIBR International Congress of Anthropology. Cookies requiring consent will only be used once consent has been given; consent may be withdrawn or changed at any time using the available settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small amount of information that a website sends to and stores in the user’s browser, enabling the website to retrieve certain information about that browser’s previous activity.

Cookies may be used, among other purposes, to maintain a session, remember preferences or compile usage statistics. They are not computer viruses or spam and do not open pop-up windows by themselves. They can be accepted, blocked or deleted through the browser settings.

The Spanish Data Protection Agency provides information on online privacy and security and guidance on managing cookies in browsers: AEPD information on cookies.

Cookies on our website

The website may use first-party session cookies for technical functions, such as maintaining the user’s session and protecting forms against automated submissions. These cookies are necessary to provide the requested functions.

The website may use third-party cookies to compile traffic statistics (for example, analytics tools) and to display or enable interactions with social media content. Non-essential cookies will only be activated with the user’s consent. The availability and specific purpose of each cookie will depend on the tools enabled on the website.

• Analytics cookies help us understand how the website is used and improve its content.
• Social networks and other providers may set their own cookies when their buttons, videos or other embedded content are used. AIBR does not control those third parties’ cookies or privacy policies.
• Browsers are the tools that store cookies; you can delete or disable cookies through them. If you block technical cookies, some functions may no longer be available.
